Yes, there are a very negative reactions which are comparing the movie to Pirates of the Caribbean. I think that is utterly foolish to compare a movie like Thugs of Hindostan to any Hollywood movie. Aamir Khan has himself clarified that its not based on any movie or any book. It is a pure work of fiction. Just because a movie is shot in ships does not make it eligible to be compared to the Pirates of Caribbean. The people who pay the ticket price with their hard earned money are aware of it. They are much more knowledgeable than the self made critics who talk negatively of a movie without even watching it. Thugs of Hindostan is a commercial entertainer which will just rock the box office this Diwali worldwide and surely going to be an All Time Blockbuster!

THUGS OF HINDOSTAN TRAILER

THUGS OF HINDOSTAN trailer is here! The wait of nearly 2 years for an Aamir Khan movie in a lead role after Dangal is here. This time around, his combo along with Amitabh Bachchan is coming this Diwali in the form of "THUGS OF HINDOSTAN". There has never been so much of anticipation for any movie in Indian cinema. Every Aamir Khan movie comes with loads of expectation and he seldom disappoints. The trailer is here and it has more than exceeded the expectations. Lets now decode the trailer. 

The trailer begins with the expressive voiceover of Amitabh Bachchan(Azad). He really looks to be in great form. He is seen fighting against the British along with the fiery Fatima Sana Sheikh (Zafira). Then, enters the biggest movie star Aamir Khan as Firangi Mallah to counter Mr. Bachchan. Aamir Khan just looks a highly enjoyable character who seems to be an out and out crook, can do anything for money, ready to sell anything for money. This one seems to be one of his most entertaining characters ever. After the entry of Aamir Khan, the trailer just goes onto the next level. Watch out for the swag of Aamir Khan with which he delivers those cheeky lines, his look when he does a "salaam" to Amitabh Bachchan, his various get ups in the movie even one as a British officer and of course the best of the lot, his final showdown with Amitabh Bachchan. This scene seems to be an epic as the clash of the titans. The one where the theatres will go crazy.

Katrina Kaif in the trailer looks sizzling. She seems to be dancing like never before and will scorch the screens. Though looks a limited character, Katrina absolutely bring in a lot of commercial appeal to the movie.The background score of the movie is an important character in the movie itself. The background score just lifts the trailer to incredible levels.Vijay Krishna Acharya, the director seems to have made the movie on a very huge scale and it really shows in the trailer. His taking is praise worthy. The story seems to be the thugs taking on the British rulers, however each character graphs looks different. The VFX are neatly done. The Cinematography seems to be world class. Art director seems to have done a wonderful job. The movie will certainly ride on the strength of its interesting characters. The dialogues are clap-worthy. "Seeti Maar" dialogues, especially the ones delivered by Aamir Khan are sure to bring the house down.


The movie trade circles were already expecting the movie to be a big blockbuster right from the word the movie was announced. Aamir Khan movies now mean that an all time blockbuster is coming. Even his not so commercial movies like Dangal went on to become an All time Blockbuster. With THUGS OF HINDOSTAN being an absolutely commercial entertainer of Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, the cast of Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh and loads of other actors included in this movie make it the biggest release of the year. Few of the critics might be harsh enough to point out mistakes or shortcomings, however at the end of the day, we need to understand that it is a commercial movie and is meant to entertain. The people who pay for the ticket prices with their hard earned money are going to lap it up. Ultimately, they are the biggest critics.

1. Aamir Khan was born on 14th March, 1965. It was the festival of "HOLI" on that day and interestingly Aamir Khan's first movie in Bollywood was "Holi",  though he was not the lead in it. 




2. Aamir Khan even played tennis on a national level for India. He was the state tennis champion for Maharashtra. However during his tennis days, he was known by the name"Aamir Hussain" and not "Aamir Khan". 


3. Aamir Khan also can solve the Rubik's cube in record time. In fact, during his college days, he used to solve it using one hand and he used to win small bets with his friends in the canteen.


4. Aamir Khan was an assistant director before becoming an actor and once got scolded by Amrish Puri on the sets of the movie "Zabardast" for which he was assistant director. Interestingly, Aamir and Amrish Puri never got a chance to work with each other in any movie.

SURAIYYA-KATRINA KAIF IS THE BEAUTIFUL THUG

She stars as Suraiyya".Katrina Kaif looks beautiful, sizzling in the poster and with chart buster music playing in the background, we do get a sense that she would certainly be having a couple of blockbuster songs to her credit in the movie. Katrina Kaif makes everyone drool in dance numbers. She is one of the most beautiful actresses around and a big star. She is going to be a huge plus to Thugs of Hindostan even though she might have a limited role and confined mostly to songs.


If we take a look at Katrina Kaif's journey in Bollywood, it has certainly not been an easy one. She started her career in a movie she would most likely to forget and remove from her biography."Boom" , the movie also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Gulshan Grover, Bo Derek also had Katrina Kaif in a tiny role. This has to be one of the creepiest movies ever made in Bollywood. The movie rightly tanked at the box office and Katrina Kaif was forgotten. She then starred in few movies down south like 'Malliswari" which were hits, yet Katrina Kaif did not get due recognition. In Bollywood, she was still fighting for a place. She was a non Hindi speaker and that added to her troubles. She starred in "Race 2" as the secretary to Saif Ali Khan. With Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3, SRK in "Jab Tak Hain Jaan", Salman Khan in "Ek Tha Tiger", Hrithik Roshan in "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" , Ranbir Kapoor in "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani". Dhoom 3 became the highest grossing Bollywood movie till that time. Tiger Zinda Hain was the biggest hit of the year. 


Critics have been of the opinion that Katrina Kaif is an average actor and has limited acting skills. But, then who cares. Katrina Kaif never made any fuss about it. She certainly knows her limitations and strengths. She, like other bollywood actresses has never ever tried to do different cinema. She knows that Bollywood still has a large chunk of audience who revere commercial cinema. There is a huge audience, especially in the small towns and single screens who would still love to see a great dance number. There is still a large population in the country who watch a movie for just their favourite actress. Bollywood has seen many actresses in the past who had limited acting skills, however made it with their glamour, looks and dancing abilities. Parveen Babi, Zeenat Aman etc ruled the Box office with these abilities. Katrina is one of the most hard working actresses around. She is brilliant in action scenes. In fact, she is the best in action scenes amongst all the current crop of Bollywood actresses.



Katrina Kaif is certainly a superstar in her own league. She has millions of fans who follow her, adore her and look forward to her movies. The name 'Katrina Kaif' in the title of a movie will certainly add a lot of commercial strength to a movie. Katrina Kaif is looking million dollars on the new poster of Thugs of Hindostan. She seems to have again bagged a Blockbuster hit in her kitty from the looks of it.

JOHN CLIVE-THE MERCILESS VILLAIN IN THUGS OF HINDOSTAN

Its Thursday and yet another new poster of Thugs of Hindostan has been unravelled. This time its "John Clive" played by Llowd Owen. He is introduced as the merciless officer in the world of Thugs. The motion poster again with the sizzling background score looks menacing. It really gives us a glimpse that his character graph is also going to be really good and have a major impact on the movie story line.The fiery look in his eyes and his pose with that cruel background score lifts the entire poster to another level. This seems to be a character to watch out for in the movie.


Aamir khan, in his movies unlike most of the other Bollywood movies, has always made sure that if there is any foreign actor in his movie, he is not made to look like a caricature. We often see Bollywood movies painting the foreign actors as if they are just stocks of laughter or pure villains without giving them a proper background or character graph. Aamir khan perhaps the first time in Lagaan, gave the British character, played by the magnificent "Paul Blackthorne" a meaty role. A role that was villainous, yet is not showing as a comic stock. The role had a brilliant graph right from the start till the final credits roll on. In fact, Aamir khan makes the foreign actors look as real as possible in his movies. He does not give them unnecessary lengthy Hindi dialogues. The beautiful and classy "Rachel Shelly" , the sister of the British Officer in Lagaan is another example. She was an extremely lovable character who falls in love with Bhuvan, the villager. The character of Rachel Shelly was designed to be as realistic as possible. Her one sided love with Bhuvan makes our heart melt and root for her even though she is a British. 



The Character of "Sue" in Rang De Basanti is another example. She comes from a foreign nation to India and just falls in love with character of DJ, played by Aamir Khan. But, then she is just not any other girl who falls in love. She has a strong role, she supports her friends in their movement to fight against injustice, she is a working woman who has a haunting past of her father and wants to make up for it. Sue is not painted as a foreign girl in the movie, she is made to look like one amongst the group of Indians, she stays with them , she shares their happiness, their sorrows. 



I am pretty sure Aamir khan would certainly also make "John Clive" a remarkable character in Thugs of Hindostan. You would be surprised to know why I mentioned Aamir khan and not the director of these movies as the reason for their characters. I strongly feel that Aamir khan gives so many inputs during the movie making and script development that he has a strong say in all the characters. He just wants every character to look the best, have great graphs.


 Aamir Khan firmly believes that if the film is good, every character will shine. Aamir khan just takes care of all the characters in the movie so well, it is the reason the audience takes care of his movies so lovingly!
