Aamir-A PERFECTIONIST OR A MEGASTAR

The word "Perfectionist" has been entitled to Aamir khan through media, as the media assigns a title to the stars. The word "Superstar" was first coined for Rajesh Khanna when he swayed the nation in the late 1960s. Dilip Kumar was known as Supreme star, Amitabh Bachchan was given the title as 'Mahanayak' and so on. But I sincerely feel the title "Perfectionist" has been bestowed upon Aamir khan, not for his brilliance of getting into the skin of each character he plays on the silver screen, however to subside his mega stardom at the box office. Keep other titles like "Superstar" for stars who mostly thrive on the PR. Aamir khan has never believed in the PR machinery, his work speaks for himself. Aamir khan is an ultimate method actor and like any great actor, he believes that when he begins for a role, he needs to start from the scratch. The word "Perfectionist" is often misleading. Acting, like other art forms or even sports, is an ever learning process. I remember in an interview "Naseeruddin shah" spoke about acting. He rightly questioned why actors do not work on their craft, like the cricketers do net practice even when not playing. Acting is an art, it needs to be worked upon. It is exactly why the term "Perfectionist" does not fit into any art form or sports.

Every actor has to start afresh and give it his all to the role. Every great actor tries to study the graph of the role, work on the body language, diction, understand the finer aspects to bring life to the role. When he begins, he needs to start afresh so that he does not sound repetitive. Any great cricketer, right from Don Bradman to Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli, cannot be termed as a perfectionist. He needs to start from zero in every innings. The greatest of the actors are never perfectionist, they are ever learning. They are not complacent, they work on every movie as if its their first outing. Aamir khan is a great actor, probably one of the greatest ever even if compared on the world stage.

To sum it up, Aamir khan himself quoted in a dialogue from the iconic movie "Dil Chaahta hain" when Akshay khanna tells him "Tu nahee sudhrega" (Won't you mend your ways?) to which Aamir khan candidly replies "Waise bhi Perfection ko improve karna mushkil hota hain" (Its difficult to improve on Perfection)

Aamir khan is an ever improving actor with the box office potential of a Megastar. Bigger than all the stars with whom he is not even competing with. Because no one is even near his range.
